The lease is signed. The Flying Biscuit Café is coming to 6609 Falls of Neuse Rd, Raleigh, NC 27615, with doors expected to open in the first quarter of 2027.
It’ll be the fourth Flying Biscuit in the Triangle for franchise partners Tahir Rafiq and Zinnia Tahir — and the first one in North Raleigh.
Meet the operators: Tahir Rafiq and Zinnia Tahir
Tahir and Zinnia already run three Flying Biscuit cafés around the Triangle: Chapel Hill, Cary and Wake Forest. North Raleigh makes four.
That matters more than it sounds. Four cafés means four sets of morning crews they’ve hired and trained, four dining rooms they’ve watched fill up on a Saturday, and a pretty good sense of what a neighborhood needs before it opens. They aren’t guessing at this one.
Why Falls of Neuse Road?
Because a whole lot of people drive past it every morning and almost none of them can sit down to breakfast.
That stretch of Falls of Neuse is busy all day, ringed by schools and long-established neighborhoods. Tahir and Zinnia looked at the traffic, looked at the gap, and did the math.
“I just felt like this part of town was missing a great breakfast option, and a lot of people pass through here every day,” said Tahir Rafiq, franchise partner, The Flying Biscuit Café. “We’re looking forward to serving this community — the schools, the neighborhoods, the families who live right here.”
The café is being planned around exactly that crowd: families grabbing something before the school bell, neighbors catching up mid-morning over coffee that keeps coming, and the lunch rush that rolls in right after.
What’s on the plate
If you haven’t been: Flying Biscuit is breakfast and lunch, all day, until we close mid-afternoon. No dinner. We’re pretty firm about that.
The menu is Southern-leaning brunch food that doesn’t hold back — stuffed French toast, the shrimp and grits people drive for, big omelets, vegan scrambles, burgers and wraps. And biscuits, which arrive with too much cranberry apple butter. Which is the right amount.
Coffee, fresh juice, and a lot of refills.
When does the North Raleigh café open?
Opening is targeted for Q1 2027 at 6609 Falls of Neuse Rd, Raleigh, NC 27615. Hiring and opening-day details will come closer to the date — if you want to work a breakfast crew and be home by mid-afternoon, keep an eye out.
