Katy, Your Biscuits Are Rising

Katy, Your Biscuits Are Rising

It’s official. The Flying Biscuit Café is coming to Katy, Texas.

Local franchisees Mario and Ifeoma Harper just signed the lease on a space at 1660 S. Mason Road, Katy, TX 77450. They have a spot, a plan, and a whole lot of biscuits in their future.

Meet the Harpers

Mario and Ifeoma aren’t coming in from somewhere else to plant a flag. They’re building this restaurant for the people they already share a zip code with.

When we asked who they’re most excited to feed, they had a quick answer: “the people who make Katy home.” They mean families, professionals, students, and anyone who wants a comforting Southern breakfast and a friendly face refilling their coffee.

They’re also looking forward to getting to know local community groups and the neighbors who turn a regular Tuesday breakfast into a tradition.

Why S. Mason Road?

It’s easy to see and easy to get to. That matters when you’re trying to get the kids fed before school or meet a friend for brunch on a Saturday.

The Harpers picked it so neighbors could drop in for breakfast, stay for brunch, and come back for those “just one more bite” moments. We know exactly which moments they mean. They usually involve a biscuit.

Why Katy?

Katy has grown a lot, and it hasn’t lost its hometown feel. Mario and Ifeoma were drawn to its strong sense of community and its diverse, growing neighborhoods. It’s the kind of place where people love good food and remember the name of the person who served it.

That’s a pretty good match for a restaurant that started in Atlanta’s Candler Park neighborhood more than 30 years ago and still runs on the same idea: good food, served warm, to whoever walks in.

What’s Coming to Katy

If you haven’t been to a Flying Biscuit yet, here’s what to expect:

  • Biscuits, baked all morning. Too much butter, which is the right amount.
  • Creamy dreamy grits that’ll ruin every other bowl of grits for you.
  • Breakfast and lunch, served all day until the doors close at 3pm.
  • A room where you can come as you are — even that version.
