Flying Biscuit Is Landing in Murfreesboro

Flying Biscuit Is Landing in Murfreesboro

Good news for anyone in Rutherford County who’s tired of driving around on a Saturday morning looking for a brunch spot worth the wait: The Flying Biscuit Café is coming to Murfreesboro, Tenn.

Restaurant and retail operator Paresh Patel has signed a franchise agreement to open the brand’s first Murfreesboro café. Site selection is underway now, and an address and opening date will be shared once the lease is signed.

Meet Paresh Patel

Paresh has spent more than 10 years running high-volume food service and convenience businesses, from gas stations to restaurants. He knows what it takes to keep a kitchen humming every single day, and he knows the Murfreesboro market.

Here’s the fun part: he didn’t find Flying Biscuit through the franchise world. He found it on social media, like a lot of our guests do. Then he tried the food.

“The food is what got me first — it is a step above what else is out there in breakfast and brunch. Then you walk in and the room has its own feel to it. That is what I want for Murfreesboro: the place families and friends pick on a Saturday morning,” Paresh said.

Built for the Weekend Crowd

Paresh is betting on the weekend. He sees his café as the go-to spot for families and friend groups rolling in from the surrounding neighborhoods for breakfast and brunch, and he thinks Murfreesboro is ready for more of that.

He’s also thinking long-term. The current agreement covers one café, but Paresh hopes to eventually grow to three Flying Biscuit locations as a multi-unit owner-operator.

What’s on the Menu

The Murfreesboro café will serve the full breakfast and lunch menu: stuffed French toast, the famous shrimp and grits, omelets, burgers, wraps and, of course, biscuits with too much butter, which is the right amount. Full-service catering will be available too.

Flying Biscuit runs breakfast and lunch only. Doors open early and close at 3 p.m., so the morning gets all the attention.

Tennessee Keeps Filling In

Murfreesboro is the latest stop in a fast Tennessee run. The state’s first café opened at Turkey Creek in Knoxville in May 2025 under owner-operator Chris Compton, who opened his second café in downtown Knoxville on Sept. 12. Father-and-daughter team Larry and Courtney Bell have signed for the first café in the Tri-Cities, and the brand signed its first Nashville agreement in September.

“Tennessee has filled in quickly, and Murfreesboro is a good place for the next Flying Biscuit. Paresh knows the market and understands what it takes to run a kitchen every day. We’re glad to have him, and we’re not done in Tennessee,” said Andrew Scherzer, partner and director of franchise development for Flying Biscuit Franchising.
