One Year, No Crumbs Left Behind: Flying Biscuit Huntsville Celebrates a Birthday Worth Buttering Up

One Year, No Crumbs Left Behind: Flying Biscuit Huntsville Celebrates a Birthday Worth Buttering Up

Can you believe it’s already been a year? Because we can’t.

It feels like just yesterday that The Flying Biscuit Café landed in Huntsville, Alabama, and started slinging creamy dreamy grits to the good people of the Rocket City. But the calendar doesn’t lie — our Huntsville location is officially turning one, and franchise owners Jeannie and Deon are throwing the kind of party that involves eggs, bacon, and very little restraint.

A Year of Brunch, Biscuits, and Big Hellos

When Jeannie and Deon opened the doors at 3800 Governors Dr SW last spring, they had a pretty simple mission: bring Atlanta’s favorite all-day brunch spot to North Alabama and make it feel like home. One year later? Mission accomplished — and then some.

Huntsville showed up. Neighbors became regulars. Regulars became friends. And somewhere along the way, “let’s meet at Flying Biscuit” became a full-on Saturday morning tradition. That’s the stuff Jeannie and Deon dreamed about when they signed on — not just running a restaurant, but building a spot where the whole community could land.

As Jeannie shared during a recent visit to Tennessee Valley Living, this past year has been about a whole lot more than breakfast. It’s been about showing up for the neighborhood every single day — one biscuit, one “good morning, y’all,” one coffee refill at a time.

The Birthday Bash: Mark Your Calendars for April 21

Flying Biscuit Breakfast

Here’s where you come in.

On April 21, Flying Biscuit Huntsville is celebrating its first birthday with a deal so good it almost feels illegal: the $7 Flying Biscuit Breakfast. For seven whole dollars, you’re walking away with:

  • Two eggs, your way
  • Creamy dreamy grits (yes, they’re as good as they sound)
  • Chicken sage sausage or bacon (tough call, we know)
  • Moon dusted potatoes (we’d explain, but it’s better as a surprise)
  • A fresh-baked biscuit
  • A side of our famous cranberry apple butter

That’s basically the whole Flying Biscuit greatest-hits album on one plate. For seven bucks. We’re not saying you should show up hungry — but we’re not not saying it either.

Why Huntsville? Because Huntsville Showed Up First

Franchising is a funny thing. You can build the best brand in the world, but at the end of the day, a café is only as good as the people running it and the community that walks through the door. Jeannie and Deon are locals. They know the neighborhoods, the schools, the Saturday morning routines. They didn’t just open a restaurant in Huntsville — they opened a restaurant for Huntsville.

And the feeling is mutual. To every guest who’s become a regular, every family who picked Flying Biscuit for a birthday, every first-date brunch and every post-church crowd — thank you. You turned a new spot on Governors Drive into a neighborhood staple in twelve short months. That’s not something we take for granted.

Come Hungry, Leave Happy (and Probably With Leftovers)

Whether you’ve been coming in every week since day one or you’ve been meaning to try us “one of these Saturdays,” April 21 is the day. Bring a friend. Bring the whole family. Bring that coworker who’s been judging your brunch loyalty from afar.
